Who we are & why we have come together
The Julimar Conservation and Forest Alliance (JCAFA) was established in 2022 by a number of community groups with a common interest and appreciation of Julimar State Forest.
Founding member organisations include the Toodyay Naturalists Club (TNC), Toodyay Friends of the River (TFoR), Birdlife Australia and Toodyay Historical Society (THS).
Our focus is on community awareness, ecosystem health and the preservation of the Forest. The name ‘Julimar Conservation Park’ appears on various signs around the park which is highly misleading as the forest has never been given Conservation Park status and in reality has little protection compared with a Conservation Park.
For the current biodiversity and ecosystem health to remain the same, improve, or prevent further degradation, we believe that a National Park Status is this forests best option.
Our Mission
The Alliance was established with the purpose of improving the protection of the natural value and assets of the Julimar Conservation Park by seeking to have it reclassified as a National Park.
